Faster runs, steadier framing

Runs start in about two minutes instead of twelve, framing locks onto the right person in far more shots, and split screens follow the source's own layout.

  • Faster startA run used to spend up to twelve minutes getting a machine ready before touching the video. That wait is now about two minutes.Improved
  • Framing finds its subjectThe frame now locks onto the main person in nearly every shot, and moves less between them.Improved
  • Split screens and slidesTwo- and three-box shots are split along the source's own panels, footage on top and people below, with no black bars inside a tile. Full-screen slides and graphics are shown whole instead of cropped.Improved
  • Audio left aloneSound no longer dips at joins where nothing was cut, and per-episode volume levelling is off, so your source's levels come through as they are.Fixed

Playback on Apple devices

Episodes play on iPhones and Macs again, and the links a connected agent hands back open in any browser.

  • Apple playbackSome episodes refused to play on iPhones, iPads and Macs. Every episode rendered from now on plays there too.Fixed
  • Agent clip linksLinks from a connected agent pointed at an address only Talecut's own machines could reach. They now open anywhere.Fixed

Files from your machine

An agent can now take a video straight off your computer. Name the file, it uploads it for you, and the cut starts from there. Links keep working like before.

  • Local files through the connectorSay the file's name and the agent pushes it up itself, then cuts it. Nothing to host and no link to hunt down first.Added

Talecut for agents

Talecut now has an MCP server. Add one URL to your AI agent, hand it a video link, say what to cut, and the clips come back as links.

The connectorSee what it can do

Every cut Talecut makes, started and watched from inside an agent. The agent signs in through your browser, and you can disconnect it any time.

  • Sign in from your agentAdd the URL, and the first call opens your browser to approve the connection. No key to paste. Connected agents are listed on the connect page, each with a Disconnect button.Added
  • Setup for your clientThe connect page gives you the exact command or config for Claude Code, Codex, Cursor and Claude Desktop.Added
  • Clips by linkAn agent hands over a direct link to a video file rather than uploading it, and gets a link per finished clip back.Added

Per-shot editing controls

The editor now works one shot at a time, with hook lines on their own lane, split panels you place yourself and a letterbox for a single shot. Cuts land cleaner on fades and on news footage.

  • Timed hook linesA hook line has a start and a duration on its own timeline lane. Add several per episode, drag each onto the take it belongs to, and it burns over exactly that window.Added
  • Split panels you placeOn any shot, choose a split and place and resize its panels. The preview shows the same layout the final video composes, including a three-panel arrangement with two small panels above a dominant one.Added
  • Letterbox one shotA single shot can be letterboxed without touching the rest of its beat, and a letterboxed shot no longer dips the audio around it. A shot read as a text card can be overruled from the same panel.Added
  • Cleaner cut edgesCut points sit on the frame a dissolve begins rather than after it. A news channel's bottom band is cropped out of the vertical frame, an ad break is never picked as a beat, and in group shots the camera aims at faces.Improved
  • Studio libraryThe Studio loads a page at a time instead of the whole library, and a finished Prompt to clip card is named by its tool and clip count rather than as a micro-drama.Fixed

Cutting by prompt

A third tool. Write what you want cut and every part of the video that matches comes back as its own vertical clip.

Epic shipped

Describe the moments you want in your own words, the way you would ask an editor. Talecut watches the whole video, finds every part that matches, and hands each one back as a vertical clip with subtitles burned in. The same line decides who the camera follows.

The episode editorWatch a sample season

Move a cut point, trim a moment, drop a scene you did not want, then render the season again. Only the pieces you touched are cut again, so a change comes back in minutes rather than another full pass.

    Vertical reframeSee what it does

A second tool that keeps your video whole at its original runtime and reframes it vertical. Nothing is cut, and the camera still follows whoever is speaking.

    • Knowing what to doThe editor introduces itself the first time you open it, and each tool says what it does to your video before you upload anything.Improved
    • Episodes that were still arrivingA season could report itself finished while its episodes were still uploading, which showed you an empty gallery and blamed your video. It now waits until every episode can actually play.Fixed

    Upfront pricing for short videos

The minimum charge is stated before an upload is confirmed, and progress reporting during preparation is more accurate.

    Accurate run progress

    • Preparation phase on the processing screenA run waiting for processing capacity is shown as preparing. Percentages are only reported once processing has started.Added
    • Queue status reported mid-runThe processing screen no longer briefly reports a queued state between stages of a running job.Fixed
    • Episodes missing from the results gallerySome completed runs listed no episodes until a refresh. The gallery now shows every published episode as soon as the run finishes.Fixed
